BALACLAVA No.13
#HELPUKRAINEAlthough our last weeks were marked by an intensive production and preparation time for the next Autumn/Winter 22/23 collection, the world political events have overshadowed many things. In order not to stand idly by, we decided to release our Balaklava series from this very collection earlier than planned and donate 100% of the proceeds to Ukrainian refugee aid. On the one hand, balaclavas are currently considered a must-have in the fashion world, and on the other hand, they have their historical origins in the Crimean War of 1854 - this is why we chose Balaklavas for this fundraiser. The caps are handmade unique pieces and available in our store and online.
The name comes from their use in the Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War in 1854, referring to the town near Sevastopol in Crimea where British troops wore knitted headgear to keep warm. Handmade balaclavas were sent to British troops to protect them from the bitterly cold weather. The British troops relied on this help because their own supplies (warm clothing, weatherproof shelters, and food) did not arrive in time.
