MONSTER SOCK Worm

€50,00

Color: Monster

Henrik Vibskov's "Monster Socks" are knitted textile worms – soft, playful, and sculptural figures designed to incorporate what we would otherwise throw away: textiles at the end of their life cycle.

The "Monster Sock" aims to offer a tangible, sensory experience and requires your textile waste as well as your participation to become a new object. As a visual and physical reflection on our criteria for discarding, it confronts us not only with what and how much we throw away, but also with our differing ideas about when the end of a life cycle is reached. Through customer participation, the Monster Sock project redefines the user's role as a creator and, with it, our shared responsibility for our resources.

The monster worm is inspired by the earthworm – nature's silent recycler.

It processes the dead and nourishes new life. In the same way, we hope that the Monster Socks can remind us that everything we create and eventually discard should hold the potential for a new beginning – and that this awareness begins with an action we can feel with our hands.
